Topographic Methodology and Survey Boat

Topographic Methodology

The topographic contour drawings for the project were created with a 1-meter contour interval. These drawings detail all prominent existing natural and man-made features, including buildings, overhead and buried utilities, piping, roads, and the shore edges within the site area. Additionally, all necessary base stations were identified on the drawings. The boundary limits and site coordinates for the proposed site were produced based on the survey data.

Survey Boat

For this project, Nusail utilized a 32-foot vessel. Before departure and field operations, the Party Chief conducted a safety audit to ensure all necessary safety apparatus were in order and that the vessel was safe for the specific operations. This process was crucial to ensure the safety and efficiency of the survey operations.

Results

The survey area exhibited irregular seabed features, with the inside fishery harbour and near shore areas remaining relatively shallow compared to the site boundary area. The survey of the six fishery harbours was completed within the client’s time limit. The project was executed without anomalies in project understanding or operational performance. All internal safety requirements for field operations were adhered to, and journey management was conducted through the Nusail office. No safety-related incidents occurred during the survey.
